The TGA is further updating its standards as part of vaping reforms. From 1 March 2025, only vapes that meet new standards can be imported or manufactured in Australia, and from 1 July 2025, only compliant vapes can be supplied within the country. Key changes include ingredient restrictions, reduced nicotine levels (maximum 50 mg/mL), and enhanced packaging and labelling. New technical requirements for vaping devices and accessories will also be introduced. These reforms aim to ensure vape safety and quality for smoking cessation while addressing the lack of ARTG-approved therapeutic vapes.
This webinar will help pharmacists understand the ethical, legal, and professional considerations of dispensing non-ARTG-registered vapes. It covers new regulations, risk management strategies, and the importance of professional indemnity insurance.
